Sustainability Manager at IKEA Retail in Poland

Katarzyna Dulko-Gaszyna has been responsible for implementing the sustainability strategy “People and Planet Positive” for the IKEA Poland retail chain since 2011. Previously she was responsible for Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the publishing industry (RASP media group). Her main areas of expertise are responsible consumption and communication, sustainability strategy for the development of products and services, waste management with a focus on recyclable materials and circular lifecycle, solar energy, as well as community involvement projects.
She graduated from, among others, political science and environmental management at the Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University of Technology and the German Universities of Hamburg and Bremen. Katarzyna comes from Oświęcim but has been living in Warsaw, together with her family, for many years.

Topic of the meeting: IKEA towards becoming “People & Planet Positive” Strategic sustainability in business.

The IKEA sustainability strategy – People & Planet Positive – was launched in 2012 and newly updates with ambitious goals to transform the IKEA business, the industries in the IKEA value chain and life at home for people all across the world. The company made significant progress since then, but the rapidly changing world calls for even more ambitious goals and urgent action. To create a better everyday life for the many, and to ensure the business success into the future, we must take on the challenges that face us, together. Climate change, unsustainable consumption and inequality are some of them. For business, for communities, for each of us.
We will discuss on how to integrate sustainability ambitions and needs into everyday business.

TOMASZ FULA

Involved with the SPRING Association and its social programs for the last two years.
He started as a Team Leader in the ACADEMY OF THE FUTURE, and then became the Logistics Division Coordinator. Managing a 30-person team, working with a remote team, providing logistical support for trainings and events – he is no stranger to such challenges! For several months now he has been responsible for the globalization of the PRECIOUS GIFT program.
In 2016, after 7 years spent in banking at sales positions (from cashier to affluent client's advisor), he’s changed the area of career interest and moved into the NGO sector.
He is a graduate of the WSB - National-Louis University in Tarnow, in the field of public administration; economics at Krakow University of Economics, and holds a postgraduate diploma in Neuro-leadership from the Lazarski University in Warsaw.
Privately, he loves motorcycle tourism, downhill skiing, and carving and DIY.
He’s also interested in the areas of psychology and neuroscience.

Dr Weber is the Kennan Institute Associate Professor of Russian and Eurasian Studies. He taught at Harvard University, and conducted research at Davis Centre for Russian and Eurasian Studies, National Research University, Carnegie Moscow Centre and the New Economic School in Moscow.

AGATA KRZĄSTEK

Second year law student at the faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, where actively engages in scientific activities, the work of student associations such as European Law Students Association, Forum for Young Diplomats and works of the Students government UJ. From May it has been the function of the Youth Delegate of RP to Of the United Nations for the 73rd General Assembly. In October, during the proceedings of the Third United Nations Committee, together with Klaudia Klonowska, we will represent the interests of Polish youth in the global arena.

Topic of the meeting: The role of the young people in the UN – how to make our voice audible.

Anyone who thinks their voice does not matter in the largest international organization in the world ...this is one of the key tasks of the Youth Delegates who, together during UN General Assembly, are looking for solutions to problems, representing the interests of the YOUTH from around the world. Is it possible to talk about what awaits us in 15 years when we are 20 years old? You can and even have to! All of us share common global challenges: difficulties in entering the labor market, climate change, discrimination. Do you think that their elimination is impossible? Everything depends on you! Introduce your ideas, present creativity and innovation that will help change the world at the local and global level. The workshop will be run by the United Nations Youth Delegate of Poland, Agata Krząstek, who for years has shown her dedication for working with her closest environment. Now she will be glad to present the results of joint discussion during workshops at the national level and internationally at the headquarters of the United Nations.

Graduate of the Technical University of Rzeszów at the Faculty of Engineering And Construction, National School of Business, National-Louis University in Nowy Sącz - Executive MBA and Postgraduate Studies Integrated Logistic Processes in the Firm, Academy of Economics, Cracow University of Economics. He enjoys cycling. He is interested in geopolitics and etymology.
